Gill-Montague School Committee Approves $197K in Warrants, Adopts Meeting Calendar

GILL — July 27, 2021 — Gill-Montague School Committee approves nearly $197,000 in warrants and hears full federal relief funding breakdown. The committee voted unanimously at its July 27 virtual meeting to approve AP Warrant No. 3142 for $155,115.77 and AP Warrant No. 3202 for $41,310.60, covering fiscal year 2021 closeout and fiscal year 2022 expenses. Business Manager Joanne detailed three tiers of ESSER pandemic relief: approximately $250,000 in ESSER 1 funds nearly spent through the current summer program; $866,000 in ESSER 2 available through September 2023; and $1.9 million in ESSER 3 available through September 2024. Director of Learning Diane Ellis reported 73 percent participation among the 33 high school students invited to credit recovery programming, with 18 completing coursework. The committee also introduced two new administrators: Christopher Barnes as incoming principal of Turner's Falls High School and Great Falls Middle School, and Jean Powers as incoming director of teaching and learning.
